Cashews provide magnesium
People who have higher levels of magnesium have a lower likelihood of having depression, central obesity and body fat percent overall
Cashews have tryptophan
The body requires this tryptophan to produce serotonin. The theory is that when the serotonin level is low depression and anxiety are elevated. Higher serotonin, happier, calmer people.
Cashews have vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 helps the process that happens between tryptophan and serotonin AND helps us absorb magnesium. Could it be that magnesium, tryptophan and vitamin B6, all found in cashews is what helps cashews to help depression?
Cashews help your heart
Cashews have mono-unsaturated fats, which are good for your heart. Mono-unsaturated fats are found in olive oil. Don’t worry about weight gain. A study in the journal Obesity found that those who ate nuts at least twice a week were 31% less likely to gain weight compared to those who didn’t eat nuts.

A serving of cashews will give you 38% of your daily copper requirement. If Copper is low in your body, it can promote anemia, weaker bones and blood vessels, elevated LDL cholesterol and make you more prone to developing infections.
