Simple DIY Toothpaste and Deodorant

Taking another step in my journey toward a healthier lifestyle, I finally broke down and made some homemade toothpaste and deodorant. It was super easy and cheap, y’all should definitely give it a try!

DIY Lemon Scrub Toothpaste:
2/3 cup baking soda
4 tsp of fine sea salt
2-4 drops of peppermint or lemon extract
water (to the desired consistency)
*Orange extract (optional)
* 1tsp Coconut Oil (optional)
* Food coloring (optional)
Mix the ingredients in a medium bowl and add water to the desired consistency. I added orange extract and yellow food coloring to give my toothpaste a little more taste and character. Pour into a mason jar or glass container and let it settle. You can add a small spoon or scoop if you prefer.
DIY Lavender Coconut Deodorant:
1/2 cup of baking soda
3 drops of lavender essential oil
2 tbsp of coconut oil
*3-5 drops of jojoba oil (optional)
*2 drops Indian Musk oil (optional)
* 2 drops Almond oil (optional)
Mix the ingredients in a medium bowl and add a little bit of water to get a thicker consistency. I added jojoba oil, Indian musk and almond oil to give it a more fragrant smell. Pour into a mason jar, glass container or even an old deodorant container. Let it settle for about 30 minutes, and you’re good to go!
